skill building!

We know you’ve probably read the books, printed the coping skills handouts, and saved all the parenting reels–this is skill building and live coaching to build confidence in emotion regulation and managing behaviors. BUT, we get to do it in a low-risk, fun environment nurtured for learning.

You can’t rely on activating skills without understanding and practicing. Let’s make it fun!

about me

SARAH HENDERSON, LCSW

Northland Neighborhood Therapist

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with children, teens, and families. I believe therapy should be practical and give you tools you can actually use in everyday life. My goal is to create a space where children and parents feel heard, supported, and confident as they learn new ways to manage emotions, navigate challenges, and strengthen family relationships.

I have experience helping children and families facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, trauma, and other emotional and behavioral challenges. For more than 15 years prior to private therapy, I had the privilege of supporting vulnerable children and families through my work at Children's Mercy Hospital. Those experiences have shaped my compassionate, collaborative approach to helping families build resilience and thrive.

I am also a parent. I love living north of the river and our family has always been involved in supporting our community. If I’m not in sessions, you can find me fueling my creative side, cheering for all the sports, in my garden, on a run, or playing a good backyard wiffle ball game. Much like you, I am always learning and growing to be a better parent.
